His dam is SPS Highlight by Hohenstein, who was the Reserve Champion of his Stallion Performance testing with an overall score of 134.05, FIRST IN DRESSAGE with a score of 148.29, and a jumping score of 109.25. His offspring are known to be extremely typey an elegant, with sensitive and excellent minds for the Dressage Ring. He is the sire of the now famous young stallion His Highness, who sold for a record Euro 550,000 to Douglas Leatherdale, president of the American Hanoverian Society. He was the winner of his Stallion Testing at Neustadt-Dosse. Hohenstein is no less the son of the World Famous sire CAPRIMOND, who is himself a Grand Prix Dressage Horse and a noted sire of stallions and premium mares alike. Caprimond is rated number 1 on the Dressage Rideability index for Hanover and provides improvements in type and gaits for many German Registries.
The Hanoverian Stallion Index lists HOHENSTEIN with a current Dressage Index of 153.00; typeyness is an overall 163, with very high scores in head, neck, frame, and saddle position. His foundation scores are also above average. Gait scores and rideability have an index of 168. To date, Hohenstein has 7 licensed sons and 40 States Premium Mares to his offspring record.
SPS Highlight also carries the noted genetics of the SPS mare and Stallion producer and Hanoverian Stallion of the year 1994, ARGENTAN thru her dam sire Archipel. He was Reserve Champion of his stallion licensing in 1969 and the following year he was 4th finalist in the Performance Testing for Approval and Lifetime Licensure Although deceased, Argentan was a very important sire of Approved Stallion sons and States Premium mares, as well as 805 competiton horses that won a total of DM 1,648,638. His broodmares in Particular were regarded highly and included three Champion German Riding Mares: aragonia(1978), Ascona (1980), an Arabella (1984). He sired some top performers including Mario Deslauriers 1984 winner, Aramis. He was the sire of 19 stallion sons, including Airport, Al Capone, and best of all, Argentinus. |
