Gaylee Stables, LLC, is located on the New Hampshire Seacoast on 46 acres of rolling pastures, natural streams, and selected trees for shade. We are 45 minutes from either Boston's Logan Airport or Manchester, NH airport. Take Rte. 95 to NH exit 1. Go east on Rte. 107 to Rte. 1. Go left (north) on Rte. 1 approximately two miles to the stop lights at Rte. 88. Go left onto Rte. 88. Go over the Rte. 95 overpass and take an immediate right onto Brown Road. We are about a quarter mile down on the left.

GAYLEE STABLES IS A FULL SERVICE FACILITY! GayLee Stables is a family owned and built stable. Established in 1987 we provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with top Hunt Seat and balance seat instruction to students of all ages. We offer private, semi-private and group lessons. We will group students according to skills and ability on their own horse or ours. We have an adorable 12 hand pony "Razzberry" who is available for the small beginning children. We have several school horses and ponies available for riders of all levels. The staff at GayLee Stables is dedicated to providing it's students with a safe, fun and educational, environment. We are a full service facility offering riding lessons, boarding, training, breeding, sales, leasing, and showing. Our students have the opportunity to show regardless of whether or not they own their own horse. GayLee Stables is now offering an annual summer workshop. Our weekly sessions run Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 ~ 3:00. Students will be assigned a horse each day and will receive a one hour group riding lesson. Following the lesson there will be a group ground lesson on daily care of the horse, tack and equipment, and important hand-on experiences. Please call for more information. 603-289-2969

Our breeding goals Our goal is to produce a horse with good conformation which is sensible and comfortable to ride, is a good mover and is also able to jump. Our babies are handled every day from birth. They lead, stand for the farrier and veterinarian, load in the trailer and are accustomed to the everyday routines they will be exposed to for the rest of their lives. They are also shown on the line and at inspections so they are exposed to the horse show atmosphere at an early age, usually with their dams. That way it isn't a big deal when they enter the ring under saddle as a three year old. Although our horses are athletic enough for the professional, most of our buyers are amateurs. They ride in their spare time so they want a horse that is easy and fun. We have many repeat customers and referrals.

Westfalens in the US. We breed primarily Westfalens; however, we use the TB broodmares for their elegance, type, and stamina. We have been very selective in choosing only the highest quality TB mares available. Our foundation mare, Lady Justice, was a performance horse before becoming a broodmare. She was Premium Mare at the AHHA Approvals and the Highest Scoring Mare in North America at the NASFHA Approvals. Her first foal, Kandida, is also a Premium Mare and is currently competing in the Green Conformation Hunters and first year Greens at A-rated shows.

Quality starts with quality. Pavana, also out of Lady Justice, received the Silver Medal at her Westfalen Foal inspection. She has competed successfully at both dressage and hunter shows. In 2002, she produced an outstanding colt by Candidus (Tiger) who was sold before he was weaned. In 2007 Pavana produced the spectacular Westfalen filly Phanciana by VDL Prestige.

Foundations for Success. Ronada, our second foundation broodmare, produced runners at the track before becoming a sport horse broodmare. Her first foal for GLS in 1995 was O'Reilly, now competing successfully at "A" rated Hunter shows in the Adult Amateur Divisions. Ronada's second foal, Liesel, has competed and won numerous ribbons and championships on the line and under saddle. Liesel produced the outstanding colt Fraiser by Feiner Stern in 2000. He was sold to Bermuda as a young riders hunter. Liesel's second foal, Windsor by Widor was sold as an "A" circuit childrens hunter/jumper.

Our Strengths We use a team approach between our vet, our farrier and ourselves to breed the horses, foal mares out, and raise the foals to make sure they have the best feed, farrier care, and health care. As a team, we assure we alleviate potential problems before they arise. We also work with our feed company, Poulin Grain, on a customized feed program to assure that the horses nutritional needs are met. Our youngsters are raised and turned out on 46 acres at our new facility on the New Hampshire Seacoast. We handle our young horses daily from birth. We worm them on a monthly basis until they are one year old. All mature horses are wormed bi-monthly and vaccinated under the direction of our veterinarian. We feed Poulin grain and top quality Canadian timothy hay to assure strong bones and minds. Our horses are seen by a farrier every 5 to 6 weeks (or sooner if need be.)

Key Benefits Our goal is to match you with a horse suitable for you. Our horses sell themselves. We don't need a professional sales team to sell them! We breed for correct conformation, gaits, and, most importantly, a quiet temperament. Our youngsters are 16.1 - 17 H. at maturity (except our ponies). Our youngsters are athletic and attractive enough to do dressage, the hunter/jumpers and/or eventing. Although our horses are athletic enough for the professional, most of our buyers are amateurs.

Travels To Holland and Germany with Gaylee Robinson and Bonnie Pike Bonnie and I decided since we were going to breed our mares with frozen semen to a couple of European stallions in Y2K we would travel to Europe and visit the Stallion Stations and also the Auction at Vechta. We had both bred to Feiner Stern the previous year so we slightly knew Heike Albert who was planning a trip to Vechta. We hooked up with her in Holland and she hauled us around to some of the finest Stallion Stations in Holland and Germany. After viewing what seemed like hundreds of wonderful stallions we decided to buy semen from Jeannette Nijhof. She had two fairly unknown stallions (in the United States) that we both liked very much. Jeannette brought both stallions (and many more) out, walked and trotted them in hand with only a thin cotton lead rope in her little Ferragamo's. The stallions were perfectly behaved with mares and foals walking by to go to the breeding shed. Those were the stallions for us! We visted Gestut St. Ludwig, the home of Donnerschlag, and saw stallions such as Lanciano, Larome, and Del Vento. As luck would have it, Bonnie and I were probably the only two people on the tour that really did not want to purchase a horse; however, we ended up each finding a beautiful yearling filly we couldn't resist. Bonnie purchased a beautiful black Rheinlander filly with four socks by Faveur/Florestan. I bought a lovely bay Westfalen filly by Lanciano (Landgraf/Pilot) out of a Lord mare. Both have gone on to win numerous ribbons at Breed Shows such as Devon and NEDA. I have recently sent my filly, Lanciana, to a professional trainer, Joe Forest, to be started under saddle and free jumped. He is amazed at her aptitude for jumping and her lovely gaits. He said she really tucks her legs up under her when she goes over the jumps. I figure she should - she has some of the best jumping bloodlines in the world! The bonus is she has a wonderful temperament to go along with everything else. I will be taking her to the Devon Horse Show at the end of May to show her in the Hunter Breeding Model Class and the Young Hunter Under Saddle Class. Lanciana was sold to Erin Shaffner as a three year old. She is presently showing in the hunters under the name "Molly Malone". "Molly" was the 2005 Vermont Summer Fest Pregreen Hunter Circuit Champion! Congratulation's Erin!

The ironic ending of the story... The ironic ending of the story... Bonnie and I come home and order our frozen semen. We breed our mares and sit back all smug and happy thinking we have really hit on something new and wonderful. We will be the first to have foals by these wonderful stallions and it will take years for others in the US to catch on to what we have going for us. You can imagine our shock and surprise when in the Spring of 2001 we hear the plans of the DBNA (Dutch Breeders of North America.) They are going to import three stallions from Europe to stand in the US. Two of the three are the stallions Bonnie and I chose to buy the frozen semen from! IROKO and FREESTYLE!! Oh well, if you can't beat them, join them! At least we both had the first Iroko and Freestyle foals in 2001, while the DBNA members had to wait for theirs until this year. It has been fun sending photos and answering questions about the stallions with the DBNA members (I joined)! We are both very happy with the foals the stallions have produced. I have two Iroko foals and one Freestyle foal. Bonnie has a beautiful yearling Freestyle filly. I am going to breed back to one of the stallions again this year with fresh semen. So needless to say, I still have frozen semen to Iroko and Freestyle in my storage tank. So much for cornering the market! One reason we decided to use these stallions is because Bonnie and I primarily breed Westfalens and they are both approved by the Westfalen Verband. I will be holding the Westfalen Inspection and Approvals again this year in New Hampshire. I hope to have a large turnout of Iroko and Freestyle foals!
